ANZ today announced that David Plank will join as Head of Australian Economics reporting to Richard Yetsenga, ANZ Chief Economist.
Mr Plank joins ANZ from Deutsche Bank, where he held the positions of Head of Fixed Income and Credit Research Asia Pacific and Head of Macro Research and Strategy Australia & New Zealand.
Prior to this he worked for Bankers Trust in a number of economistand strategy roles before it merged with Deutsche Bank in 1999.
ANZ Chief Economist Richard Yetsenga said: “David’s extensive experience, quality of analysis and strong reputation makes him theideal person to lead our Australian Economics team. He is a well-respected economist, his analysis will be highly valued by our clientsand he will integrate well with our market strategy offerings.”
In thisrole, Mr Plank will be responsible for leading the Australian Economics team, as well as providing macroeconomic analysis and insight on the Australian economy.
Mr Plank succeeds Felicity Emmett who will continue asSenior Economist after deciding to step down from the role earlier this year.
He will commencethe rolein February 2017, based in Sydney
