According to the latest Eurostat report, in January the y/o/y inflation remained at 1.8% (in line with expectations and the initial publication). In relation to the final December reading is a significant jump from the level of 1.1%.

Poorly looks, however, the CPI on a monthly basis, which had a negative growth of -0.8%. Core inflation – not taking into account value of energy and fuel – is still less than one percent with dynamics of + 0.9% y/o/y.

In case of Polish readings we also see no change in relation to the initial publication and the January CPI was on an annual basis characterized by the dynamics of + 1.4%.

Looking on quotation of EUR/GBP, we see that after three days of declines pair tries to rebound from the round level of 0.8400.The growth also corresponds to the good results of the German IFO survey, which were published shortly after 10:00.
