FX-Builder – Commercial EAs part 1

We are proud to start a new series of commercial expert advisors tests, which we announced in the following post: We will test commercial EA for You!

As the first EA, we want to present the FX-Builder.

FX-Builder is a complex product. It contains the tool with ability to create your own EA with simple clicks and it is working with two unique automatic strategies for each version. You can choose from 3 versions: Light, Basic and Pro. Each of them has two different EA strategies, but the core possibility to build up a new EA is the same.

FX-Builder Light: 2 strategies

• Light_1

• Light_2

These are the strategies based on indicator systems. Minimal deposit for each strategy is 600$ (recommended by the author). They are based on martingale money management starting at the position of 0,01 lots. They are dedicated to EURUSD.

FX-Builder Basic: 2 strategies + light version

• Basic_1 – min. deposit in amount of 650$

• Basic_2 – min. deposit in amount of 500$

In Basic version, strategies are based on bar systems. As in Light version, money management is based on martingale starting at the position of 0,01 lots. They are also dedicated to EURUSD.

FX-Builder Pro: 2 strategies + light and basic versions

• Pro_1 – dedicated to AUDUSD, min. deposit in amount of 2000$

• Pro_2 – dedicated to GBPUSD, min. deposit in amount of 2200$

Both strategies are based on grid systems with martingale money management, starting at the position of 0,01 lots.

However, FX-Builder gives you much more than only 6 well working automatic strategies. The author decided to leave fully configurable EA at your service. There is a possibility to change more than 200 parameters! It gives an opportunity to create your own EA based on built-in parameters and this is what the author had in mind! All of the above 6 strategies are nothing more than a file with the collection of settings for these parameters! Moreover, they are compatible with each other and described in attached handbook.

For example, FX-Builder allows you to enable 3 sources of signals at once, change settings of indicators or money management rules. Consequently, You can change existing strategies or make absolutely new ones!

If you are looking for a tool to create your own EA without programming skills, Light version would be enough because it has that all plus two ready for usage set of settings! In other case, if you want to benefit from author experience and gain perfectly working automatic strategies, consider Pro version.

Tests

The results of backtests you can check here with the specification which were used for those tests. However, let’s get to the most important part which is the comparison of author’s tests with ours. In different versions of the tests, all of the strategies bring profit with maximal drowndown – not higher than this one presented on the charts above.

Whereas this chart shows results of Pro version with all strategies working on our test account. The account is working 24/7 on the VPS server hosted by our broker. We use FX Salt broker. The account had 10 000$ initial deposit and maximal leverage at 1:400. All strategies are working on M15. If you want to check what are the results of each strategy, please click on the chart. That will redirect you to the myfxbook. Next, please choose “Custom Analysis”, then in bookmark “Magic” you can check strategy that you want to test and confirm it by clicking “Analyze”.

• Some can find martingale money management as minus although there is ability to disable it in settings

Martingale is the kind of money management style when after losing position, next one has doubled volume. In example, after losing a position of 0,01l, next one will be open with 0,02l and so on. This comes with advantages and risks. It makes up for losses quite quicker, but there is a risk of margin call in spite of small account balance. Always remember to keep the balance higher that author suggested.
