Jakub Zablocki – founder and dismissed Chairman of Supervisory Board of XTB

X-Trade Brokers Dom Maklerski S.A. (XTB) announced that on May 30, 2017, Jakub Zablocki decided to dismiss his position as Chairman of the Supervisory Board, the position was given to Jakub Leonkiewicz. This is the return to previous composition of Supervisory Board – Leonkiewicz was Chairman from November 2015 to January 2017.

As we read in company’s official statement, the decision is the end of personnel changes initiated in the beginning of the year: “These changes were strategic and aimed at ensuring immediate development processes as well as continuity of key operational activities of the Company until take over by the newly appointed Chairman of the Board. As a result, the process of assuming responsibilities in the Management Board was smooth and the operation of the XTB was carried out without interruption.”

As previously reported, the Polish broker has decided to appoint Omar Arnaout as President.

In an appendix to the current XTB report on the latest personnel changes in the company, it was mentioned that Jakub Leonkiewicz graduated in 2002 with a master’s degree from the Warsaw School of Economics majoring in finance and banking. In addition, he participated in the London School of Economics curriculum and was a scholarship holder at the Christian-Albrecht Universität zu Kiel.

He started his professional career in 2001 in business development at Interhyp.de in Germany. In 2001-2002 he worked at Roland Berger Strategy Consultants in Germany. In the years 2002-2015 Jakub Leonkiewicz was associated with J.P. Morgan – first as an analyst in the merger and acquisition team in London and since 2012 as director of J.P. Morgan in Warsaw, where he was responsible for J.P. Morgan actions in Poland and the Baltic States. From November 2015 to January 2017 he was the Chairman of the XTB Supervisory Board.
