On the German DAX index the Christmas lack of investor activity is clearly visible. The next post Xmas session ended only with a marginal change in the prices of 0.02%.
The strongest increases were recorded by the following companies: Vonovia: 0.88%, Merck: 0.61% and Siemens: 0.47%. On the downside, the dismal ranking is opened by Deutsche Bank: -1.50%, ProSiebenSat1 Media: -0.81% and VW group: -0.80%.

Thursday’s session does not bring much change so far and the level of round 13,000 points is still playing the role of December support before opening of 2018. In terms of macroeconomic publications, today’s week is rather fragile, therefore investors’ attention in Europe will focus on the Friday reading of the German CPI. Analysts expect strong increases of 0.5% in relation to November 0.3%, which was a three-month high.
