Today marks the launch of World Investor Week. This campaign is an initiative of the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO). This first edition of World Investor Week will take place from 2 to 8 October 2017.


The purpose of the week is to promote investor education and protection worldwide. Securities regulators and other stakeholders from more than 70 countries are participating in World Investor Week, offering a variety of activities.

The Financial Services and Markets Authority (FSMA), as vice chair of IOSCO and as a member of the IOSCO Committee on Retail Investors, supports this initiative. As part of World Investor Week, a conference on financial literacy will be held in Brussels on 3 October 2017.

The speakers are Mr Paul Andrews, secretary general of IOSCO; Mr Steven Maijoor, chair of the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA); and Mr Jean-Paul Servais, chairman of the FSMA.
