The total value of trade in equities on the Main Market was PLN 25.1 billion in March 2017, representing an increase of 43.9% year on year. The value of trade in equities on the Electronic Order Book increased by 47.5% year on year to PLN 24.6 billion and the average daily value of trade in equities on the Electronic Order Book stood at PLN 1.1 billion in March 2017, an increase of 34.7% year on year. The WIG index stood at 57,911.31 points at the end of March 2017, representing an increase of 18.1% year on year.
The total value of trade in equities on NewConnect increased by 16.1% year on year. The value of trade in equities on the Electronic Order Book on the GPW alternative market was PLN 149.7 million (+37.5% year on year).
The total volume of trade in derivatives was 1.0 million contracts in March 2017, representing an increase of 36.0% year on year. The volume of trade in index futures was 674.6 thousand contracts in March 2017, representing an increase of 37.2% year on year. The volume of trade in single-stock futures increased by 84.2% year on year to 209.0 contracts.
The value of non-Treasury bond issues listed on Catalyst was PLN 83.5 billion at the end of March 2017, representing an increase of 17.4% year on year. The value of trade in non-Treasury bonds on the Electronic Order Book on Catalyst increased by 45.5% year on year to PLN 207.2 million.
The total value of trade in bonds on TBSP was PLN 54.6 billion in March 2017, representing an increase of 98.6% year on year.
The total volume of transactions in gas was 7.3 TWh in March 2017, representing a decrease of 39.9% year on year. The volume of trade on the spot market increased by 3.4% and stood at 2.3 TWh. The total volume of spot and forward transactions in electricity was 7.7 TWh in March 2017, representing a decrease of 27.8% year on year.
The volume of spot and forward transactions in property rights to certificates of origin excluding the rights to certificates of energy efficiency (“white certificates”)2 was 8.1 TWh in March 2017, representing an increase of 21.2% year on year. The volume of trade in property rights to certificates of origin of energy efficiency (“white certificates”) was 14.6 ktoe3 in March 2017.
The capitalisation of 433 domestic companies listed on the Main Market was PLN 621.3 billion (EUR 147.2 billion) at the end of March 2017. The total capitalisation of 486 domestic and foreign companies listed on the GPW Main Market was PLN 1,260 billion (EUR 298.6 billion) at the end of March 2017.
The company UNIMOT S.A. was newly listed on the GPW Main Market in March 2017 with an offering of PLN 99 million. Bonds of the company PBG were newly listed on Catalyst in March 2017 (issue of PLN 387.160 million). Bonds of the Opolskie Voivodeship were newly listed on Catalyst in March 2017 (PLN 28 million).
