The total value of trade in equities on the Main Market was PLN 16.5 billion in October 2016, representing a decrease of 13.4% year on year. The value of trade in equities on the Electronic Order Book decreased by 12.6% year on year to PLN 15.8 billion. The value of trade in equities on NewConnect also decreased year on year. The total value of trade in equities on the alternative market was PLN 109.8 million in October 2016, and the value of trade in equities on the Electronic Order Book was PLN 105.6 million.
The total volume of trade in derivatives was 561.3 thousand contracts in October 2016, representing a decrease of 4.5% year on year. The volume of trade in index futures was 300.1 thousand contracts in October 2016, representing a decrease of 10.6% year on year. At the same time, the volume of trade in single-stock futures increased by 38.4% year on year to 145.0 thousand contracts.
The value of non-Treasury bond issues listed on Catalyst was PLN 80.3 billion at the end of October 2016, representing an increase of 18.5% year on year. The value of trade in bonds on the Electronic Order Book on Catalyst increased by 9.5% year on year to PLN 294.2 million.
The total value of trade in bonds on TBSP was PLN 37.1 billion in October 2016, representing a decrease of 11.5% year on year.
The total volume of spot and forward transactions in electricity was 12.0 TWh in October 2016, representing a decrease of 29.8% year on year. The total volume of transactions in natural gas was 8.8 TWh in October 2016, representing an increase of 33.0% year on year.
The volume of spot and forward transactions in property rights to certificates of origin net of the rights to certificates of energy efficiency (“white certificates”)2 was 2.7 TWh in October 2016, representing a decrease of 26.3% year on year. The volume of trade in property rights to certificates of origin of energy efficiency (“white certificates”) was 36.7 ktoe3 in October 2016.
The capitalisation of 433 domestic companies listed on the Main Market was PLN 532.7 billion at the end of October 2016. The total capitalisation of 486 domestic and foreign companies listed on the GPW Main Market was PLN 1,019.6 billion at the end of October 2016.
