Moday’s publication of British PMI surprised analysts – September’s value was highest since many months!
Condition of British manufacturing sector is still improving, the value of the index is at highest level since mid-2014. The main factor helping sector is internal market, however lower price of Pound led to higher demand from abroad – this is what we can read in Markit report about September’s British manufacturing PMI.
The score of PMI was 55.4 vs 53.4 in August. It means that September was the best for British manufacturing sector since June 2014. As it was noticed in the report, despite first low readings in the beginning of holidays due to Brexit referendum result, current PMI is at highest pace in this year.
